Second World War (Chronological Markers)

United States

 7-8 July 1937 incident at the Marco Polo Bridge near Beijing between Chinese and Japanese. In the following days, the Japanese begin the conquest of China.

 1 September 1939 the German army enters Poland. French and British rally the next day and declared war on Germany on 3.

 June 17, 1940 A few days after the declaration of war of Italy alongside Germany (June 10) and the entry of the Wehrmacht in Paris (June 14), Marshal Pétain, the new head of the French government, asks the 'armistice. The next day, from London, General de Gaulle launches the BBC a call to continue the war.


Second World War

 June 22, 1941 Trigger Operation Barbarossa: after two years of benevolent agreement, Hitler attacks the Soviet Union.

 December 7, 1941 Japanese naval air attack against the US Pacific Fleet based in Pearl Harbor in the Hawaiian Islands. The United States entered the war against Japan (December 8) and Germany (11 December).


Hetller

 January 20, 1942 Wannsee Conference, which sets the Nazi program of extermination of European Jewry, the "final solution."

 October 23, 1942 Triggering a victorious offensive against-British at El Alamein, west of Alexandria. The Afrika Korps of Rommel is routed. Meanwhile, the Anglo-Americans landed in Morocco and Algeria (Operation Torch, November 8).


Second World War Fear

 February 2, 1943 German surrender at Stalingrad, on the Volga. The German advance in the East is finally stopped.

 July 10, 1943 Allied arriving in Sicily, creating the fall of Mussolini (July 25). The new Italian pioneer, Marshal Badoglio, starts transactions with the Allies. 

June 6, 1944 Allied arriving in Normandy (Operation Overlord). The Western Front is open. 

20 October 1944 Belgrade was freed by Tito and the Yugoslav resistance. 

Death

 4-11 February 1945 Yalta Conference between Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill future eastern fringe of Poland and the standard of occupation zones in Germany are embraced. The Soviet Union consents to announce war on Japan inside of three months. 

 Might 8, 1945 unrestricted surrender of the Third Reich in Berlin, days after the catch of the city and the surrender of German troops in Italy (May 2). 

 August 6, 1945 blast of a US nuclear bomb in Hiroshima, trailed by a second on Nagasaki 9. In the interim, the USSR entered the war against Japan (August 8). 

Second World War End

 September 2, 1945 Signing of the unconditional surrender of the Japanese Empire, World War II ended.
